LuckyVitamin Adopts Two New Consumer Labels for Product Transparency

Being a consumer isn’t easy. How do we know if the products we are purchasing are really safe and sustainable?

LuckyVitamin, a leading online retailer in the health and wellness space, is introducing new ways for customers to find truly safe and sustainable products. The e-commerce retailer has partnered with two new meaningful consumer labels, HowGood and Made Safe.

Taking into account more than 60 different indicators including pesticides, labor conditions, packaging, distribution practices, waste management, corporate structure, ingredient impact, and community engagement, HowGood ratings distinguish the best food producers and most sustainable products. Top products receive one of three ratings: Good, Great, or Best. HowGood ratings can currently be found on more than 10,000 of LuckyVitamin’s inventory items.

Introduced in March 2016, the MADE SAFE™ is the first human health-focused certification to apply to a wide range of consumer products, including verified personal care, cosmetics, baby, and household items. Products bearing these seals don’t use ingredients considered known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, neurotoxins, behavioral toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, pesticides, insecticides, toxic solvents, VOCs, or GMOs, according to scientifically authoritative “red” lists. Initial brands with MADE SAFE certified products sold by LuckyVitamin include Alaffia, Good Clean Love, Sustain Naturals, S.W. Basics and Pura.

Incorporating labeling from these two programs on the forefront of product transparency affords LuckyVitamin.com’s customers clear choices for purchasing items that are better for them, their families, product workers, and the environment.

By partnering with HowGood and Made Safe, LuckyVitamin has taken a further leap ahead of its competitors to identify the top industry leaders in sustainability and help customers identify those that are focused on making products that are good for consumers, their employees, and the environment.
