A few months ago, I had the pleasure of watching The Kids Menu, a film highlighting amazing kid-focused nutritional programs in action. It’s so inspiring watching kids being empowered to make healthier choices for themselves.
One growing program is NutriBullet University, a 90-day healthy eating program designed to help school-aged children improve their diets by increasing their daily intake of fruits and vegetables. It’s a well-matched initiative for NutriBullet LLC, a health and wellness company focused on making it easy to consistently incorporate healthy eating into one’s lifestyle.
Currently in practice at 30 schools across the country, students use NutriBullet nutrient extractors to make nutritious vegetable and fruit-based NutriBlast smoothies for themselves in addition to receiving information about the health benefits of each ingredient. By engaging directly with the foods they eat, students get a better sense of how nutrition directly affects their mood, energy, and overall well being, while developing healthy habits that will stay with them for years to come.
NutriBullet University is a hands-on healthy eating experience that not only teaches kids about the nutrition their bodies need to thrive, but puts that nutrition directly in their hands.The goal is to improve the diets of children and decrease risk for chronic diseases by empowering kids to make healthy decisions.
I’ve seen firsthand how much more likely kids are to eat something if they’ve had a part in its creation. Whether it’s a tomato picked off a vine in their own garden or an omelette where they got to crack the shells, it’s that sense of pride that makes everything taste better.
