Wardrobe Boutique, the resale boutique benefiting Career Wardrobe, is holding a two-week long “pop-up sale” event Sept. 30-Oct. 14 featuring Tosheka Textiles handbags. 40% of all sales will go directly to assisting women in our community through Career Wardrobe, while the remaining percentage will go to a brand creating a sustainable business model for Kenyan women. This event is a great way to shop to support women locally and nationally!
Tosheka’s “Soko Bags” is a new line of stylish, handcrafted eco-friendly handbags made from clean recycled plastic and other fibers. Regularly sold online and at high-end boutiques like Anthropologie, Tosheka bags are offered in a variety of styles, shapes, sizes, bold colors and patterns.
Tosheka Textiles, LLC is a Philadelphia and Kenya-based social entrepreneurial enterprise specializing in the production of green textiles for home, clothing, and fashion accessories. All products are made from natural fibers, recycled materials, and eco-friendly dyes. They are handcrafted using fair labor practices, traditional weaving, knitting, and crochet techniques of Kenya artisans, providing them with sustainable incomes in their own communities.
The Wardrobe Boutique is an upscale resale store where all purchases benefit Career Wardrobe’s programs and services. Clothing sold at The Wardrobe Boutique comes from the high quality clothing donations given to Career Wardrobe that are not appropriate for its mission of providing women with free professional clothing for job interviews, employment, and training. At The Wardrobe Boutique, shoppers will find nearly new but affordable business, casual, designer, vintage, and evening apparel. All proceeds directly benefit The Career Wardrobe, the nation’s largest independent community-based nonprofit organization that provides women in transition with free professional clothing and educational opportunities to help them successfully find and retain employment. Store hours are Monday-Friday 11-7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.wardrobeboutique.org.
