For more than 10 years, Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia has offered a unique opportunity for businesses to gain a competitive advantage while creating positive social and environmental impact on their communities.
The 11th annual Social Venture Institute (SVI) will take place Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at The Hub Cira Center located at 2929 Arch St. in Philadelphia. Emerging, established, and budding entrepreneurs are invited to register for this intensive two-day conference dedicated to the “Triple Bottom Line” business model. Focused on people, planet, and profit, this business model encourages entrepreneurs to create wealth through environmental responsibility and positive social impact in their communities.
The conference provides a nationally tested opportunity for successful business people to share their knowledge, experience, and insights with emerging entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia region. Over the past decade, more than 2,000 entrepreneurs have been trained through SVI.
Attendees will engage in networking activities and exercises, explore business challenges during dedicated breakout sessions, weigh in on real-life challenges of featured case studies, connect with vendors and resources at the business expo, and hear the trials and triumphs of local and national successful entrepreneurs during the True Confessions sessions.
SVI attracts an incredibly diverse audience, as measured by background, industry, and stage of growth. Thanks to generous support from The Prudential Foundation, 80 scholarships are available for minority-owned businesses to attend SVI at a reduced rate of $75 ($150 off the regular registration).
SVI is a unique opportunity to meet new investors, business mentors, suppliers, and clients. Both Triple Bottom Line veterans and those who just started their sustainability journey will gain something valuable from SVI.
