Give Trees New Life at Philly Treecycling January 5

Here’s another reason not to be one of those people who leaves the Christmas tree up until March.

Philadelphia’s Treecycling is Saturday, January 5, 2013. greenlimbs.com will collect Christmas trees and holiday greens again this year for chipping. Trees and greens will be mulched and given a second life in various neighborhood parks, gardens and recreational centers.

Last year at theirWhole Foods Market chipping site, they chipped 338 trees. These efforts, combined with others throughout the city kept more than 2,000 trees from the landfill. They’ve set a goal of collecting and chipping 500 trees this year and look forward to starting the New Year on a sustainable note.

For more information on Treecycling, the Curbside Pickup Program, or to volunteer email treecycling@greenlimbs.com.
