Penn Study Shows Greening of Vacant Lots Reduces Crime

A new University of Pennsylvania study links the greening of vacant lots in Philadelphia to a reduction in crime. This is great news for the work of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and more validation for implementing programs which affect the Broken Windows Theory. I’ve written before about The Broken Windows Theory and how it applies to environmental improvements. I’m happy to see the beautification of the city having several levels of positive impact!
